The Department of Language and Literature is seeking a creative and energetic individual to teach undergraduate courses in Spanish, literature, and communication. Teaching responsibilities will include Spanish language; literature, such as Spanish or comparative literature; and possibly written or oral communication, such as college composition or public speaking, depending on background. The successful candidate will direct the department?s Spanish program and teach Spanish at all levels: beginning, intermediate, and advanced. The course load is 12 credits per semester or 24 credits per academic year and may involve traveling to the university?s sites in Bismarck or Williston, teaching via interactive video, or teaching online.

Applicants should demonstrate their teaching excellence and their ability to facilitate language-related co-curricular activities, such as Spanish Club, international field trips, and community collaborations. Furthermore, we seek applicants who demonstrate expertise and enthusiasm in one or more of these areas to complement the work of colleagues in our department and across the university: scholarship in cultural studies or digital humanities; Writing Across the Curriculum, including writing in the disciplines or writing program administration; and language teaching and support in PreK-12 schools, including English Language Learner programs.

- All academic degrees from regionally accredited institutions

- Good interpersonal and organizational skills, flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
