We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Spanish or Latin American Studies whose teaching and research expertise is in any aspect of the culture of the Spanish-speaking world, though preference will be given to candidates whose research is transnational in scope. The appointee will engage in research, teach Spanish language and Hispanic culture at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum, and also contribute to our postgraduate teaching and supervision, as well as to administration.

This post is a full-time (35 hours per week), open-ended contract.
Salary: £39,992 - £47,722 per annum.
Essential
- A PhD or equivalent.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Teaching experience appropriate to the applicant?s career stage, and evidence of ability in relation to teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, indicative of commitment to, and potential for, excellence in teaching, and in the development of courses.
- Evidence of sustained and developing research and peer-reviewed publication activities in the field of Hispanic Studies.
- Evidence of attainments in, or skills sufficient to, the development of a full range of supervisory activities from Honours dissertations to PhD theses inclusive.
- Excellent communication skills ? verbal, written, online and face-to-face.
- Evidence of self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and collegially, managing and prioritising within a varied workload.

Desirable
- Experience of PhD supervision;
- Relevant administrative experience;
- Evidence of commitment to public engagement;
- Capacity for innovation and leadership in the development of teaching materials.
- Knowledge of Portuguese and Lusophone culture.
