Full time starting salary is normally in the range £29,799 to £38,832. With potential progression once in post to £41,212 a year.

Full-time over 33 weeks (term-time + 3 weeks), 0.74 FTE
Fixed-term - 12 months from 1st September 2018 ? 31st August 2019.

The successful candidate will have: a PhD in Spanish studies (or other relevant area of research) or be near completion of a PhD; the expertise to teach in the area specified in the job particulars; experience of teaching in a university department or equivalent; fluent written and spoken English.

Job Purpose
To teach and advise undergraduate and postgraduate students within Spanish studies in the Department of Modern Languages (including, where appropriate in the Institution-wide Languages for All provision) within an established teaching programme, managed by members of staff with ultimate responsibility for the teaching programme.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to do a presentation and Interview in late August.

Presentation: to prepare a 10-minute (max.) presentation in Spanish showing how you would prepare a 50-minute seminar in Spanish for Year 1 (post-A-Level) Undergraduates on an aspect of Caribbean or Latin American culture. Please bring a copy of the lesson plan on paper to share with the panel.
