Located in Alva, Oklahoma, the university is a center of activity for the region. NWOSU values community engagement and seeks a person who can be a regional resource in Spanish language and culture.

Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to teach all levels of Spanish language, literature, and culture; advise undergraduate minors; participate in committee work; and promote teamwork and collegiality within the department by working effectively with faculty, students, and staff. At least half of the teaching load will consist of introductory Spanish courses for non-native, native, and/or heritage speakers. The candidate will strengthen the Spanish minor program and minors? bilingual literacy. The load assignment is 27 credits per year and will include concurrent enrollment, ITV courses, and possibly non-instructional university services. An interest in incorporating digital learning into courses is encouraged.

Qualifications: Master's degree required, doctorate preferred. Candidate must meet Higher Learning Commission standards for faculty qualifications (master's degree with a minimum of 18 hours in Spanish).

Candidates should have experience teaching beginning, intermediate, and advanced Spanish language, including conversation, composition, and grammar. Candidates must have native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English. College teaching experience is desirable.
