The Department of Spanish & Italian at Wake Forest University seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2019. Initial two-year appointment, renewable. Nine courses over two years (2-2-2-3), including language courses. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish. PhD in Applied Linguistics or Second Language Acquisition with a concentration in second language pedagogy completed at time of appointment. Candidates must have demonstrated experience and an active research program in language proficiency (ACTFL standards and assessment), curriculum design, and/or technology-enhanced language learning as well as interest in departmental service in these areas. Applicants must have a firm commitment to undergraduate teaching and to second language instruction in Spanish.
