The Department of Classical & Modern Languages in the School of Arts & Letters at Truman State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Spanish to begin August 12, 2019. The position requires a Ph.D. in Spanish; ABD (with Masters in Spanish) will be considered. This is a full-time, term position with a one-year contract renewable for up to three years.

Teaching responsibilities include providing classroom instruction in lower and upper division Spanish curriculum, including courses in Spanish Translation, Spanish for the Medical Professions, and/or other upper-division courses depending on departmental needs and candidate?s preparation. Additional duties include mentoring of students and providing service to the department and university.

Salary is commensurate with experience and education. The benefits package includes life, health and disability insurance, retirement contributions, and reimbursed assistance for moving expenses.

- Statement of teaching philosophy that presents the candidate?s commitment to the liberal arts and sciences and to student development
