This position is crucial for our department in that it will give our Spanish Heritage Program more cohesion and will allow it to reach its full potential. This position is also key in moving CWU towards attaining Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) status. The faculty member in this position is expected to teach all levels of L2 classes, existing second-year and advanced Spanish courses for heritage speakers of Spanish, as well as to develop new courses for the Spanish Heritage track.

Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Spanish or related field
Demonstrated commitment to diverse populations
Minimum of one-year teaching experience with Heritage students
Demonstrated commitment to scholarship
Demonstrated commitment to diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience with Heritage students at the University level
Scholarship in heritage learning
Experience or interest in developing and teaching online courses
Experience in curriculum development and improvement
Experience in advising student clubs
Experience with outreach and articulation with K12 and Community College partners
Experience working with a diverse student population

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience

Appointment: Full-Time, Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment. Additional Summer teaching may be available.
