Descripción 

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures invites applications for one full-time, non-tenure-track, fixed-term, faculty position at the title of Teaching Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor (depending upon qualifications) for the academic year 2023-2024, with the possibility of subsequent appointments.

The faculty member will be responsible for teaching primarily lower-level Spanish language sequence courses with a teaching load of four courses per semester. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications, and full-time positions include benefits. Contingent upon available funding.

Requisitos 

For an appointment as Teaching Instructor, a MA in Spanish is required, or MA with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching field.

For an appointment as Teaching Assistant Professor, a PhD in the teaching field is required.

Experience teaching lower level, Spanish language courses is required. Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Spanish language lower-levels courses, using communicative teaching practices; the ability to teach Spanish for the Professions courses is a plus (Health, Criminal Justice, etc.). Candidates should have demonstrated a commitment to teaching and willingness to do university service, such as curriculum development, recruitment, and outreach. Candidates should have demonstrated the ability to teach online and/or hybrid courses, as well as experience incorporating innovative approaches in teaching language classes.
