The Humanities and Fine Arts Department at Chattanooga State Community College is looking for a full-time Spanish instructor working under a term contract for the spring semester with the intention to turn the position into a tenure-track position. The ideal candidate will exhibit a passion for educating the College’s increasingly diverse student population. We are searching for a person who will enthusiastically engage students in Spanish language courses and serve as a faculty leader for the department. Successful candidates will be innovative, collaborative, and supportive individuals who demonstrate a sensitivity to diversity, collegiality and excellence in teaching.
Requisitos
- Master’s degree in Spanish, PhD preferred
- Teaching experience at the community college level, or a mix of secondary, community college and/or university experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in language teaching at all levels; ability to teach literature and culture in both Spanish and English; native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English.
- Commitment to maintain currency in the discipline, including use of advanced technology required in the discipline.
- Knowledge of American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages ACTFL standards.
- Strong commitment to professional growth and development, and to the continued innovation and improvement of successful teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with computers and other forms of advanced technology utilized in providing high quality instruction and the understanding and successful use of learning technology.
