The Department of Language and Literature at Texas A&M University–Kingsville invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish position to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses beginning fall 2024.
Responsibilities
Will teach four sections each fall and spring semester. Courses include beginning and intermediate Spanish, sophomore Spanish and Spanish-American literature, upper level courses in Spanish language and literature, and graduate level courses in the Online M.A. Program in Cultural Studies. Will remain active in research, professional development, grant writing, and service to the university and profession. The position also requires active participation in recruitment and retention activities for the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Requisitos
- Earned PhD in Spanish from a regionally accredited university in hand by time of appointment. The following areas of specialization will be considered: Spanish American literature and U.S. Latinx Studies.
- Aptitude in general education teaching, including first and second year Spanish and sophomore literature;
- Ability to teach Professional Spanish courses; Preferred areas of expertise complementary to program needs to include Spanish for Media Communications (journalism and broadcasting), Medical Spanish expertise, and Spanish for STEM areas.
