We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s student body as a Professor of Spanish beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year.

Requisitos 

Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Spanish or closely related field (e.g., PhD in applied linguistics with 18 hours Spanish language proficiency, PhD Hispanic languages and linguistics, PhD in Hispanic/Latin American Literature, etc. regardless, must have 18 graduate hours in Spanish). Applicants at the rank of Professor must have scholarly professional experience demonstrated through an exemplary record of peer-reviewed publications, external funding, and a distinguished record of accomplishments that have led to a national reputation in the applicant’s area of expertise. To be appointed at the rank of full professor in the program, candidates must meet the department and institutional requirements for tenure. Candidates for this position must already be tenured at their current academic institution.
 
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Spanish with a specialization in Social and Historical Linguistics, Variation and Change, or a specialization in Latin American and Spanish Colonial Literature.
