Learning foreign languages and experiencing other cultures lies at the heart of Hockerill's international community. All students at the College study two foreign languages to GCSE level and at least one at IBDP level. Progress and attainment in Languages is outstanding and many students leave the College as competent linguists in two foreign languages.

The successful applicant will take a lead on the development of Spanish and manage the teaching and learning on a day to day basis. They will be responsible for ensuring that progress and achievement of students reflects their potential in languages. 

Hockerill Anglo-European College has been consistently ranked in the top tier of UK comprehensive league tables based on its IB Diploma and GCSE results. Included in the Sunday Times 2023 Good Schools Guide of top UK schools, it is the most oversubscribed school in Hertfordshire.

The College is situated in Bishop’s Stortford within the beautiful landscaped grounds of a former teacher training college and is within 30 minutes of both London and Cambridge, with Stansted Airport just 10 minutes away. We have a roll of 900 students, both day and boarding, including a Sixth Form of 250 students.

Hockerill offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma as the sole course of study in the Sixth Form, with GCSEs and the (IB) Middle Years Programme in lower years.
