LCIS seeks a qualified and experienced Spanish teacher to join our world language team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Spanish to students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) with students participating in the MYP eAssessment. The position requires a deep understanding of the IB curriculum, effective classroom management, and a passion for fostering language proficiency and cultural awareness.

Teaching:

Instruct DP and MYP students in Spanish, focusing on language acquisition, literature, and cultural understanding.
Design and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that align with IB curriculum standards.
Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment encouraging student participation and critical thinking.

Curriculum Development:

  • Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment of the Spanish curriculum with the IB framework.

Assessment:

  • Implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to support their language development.
  • Prepare students for IB assessments, including internal assessments, language portfolios, and exams.

Cultural Awareness:

  • Integrate cultural elements into lessons to enhance students' understanding of Hispanophone cultures.

Job Description

Requisitos 

Successful candidates will have:

  • BA in Education required; MA preferred
  • An undergraduate degree in Spanish language acquisition
  • Teaching credential or certificate required
  • DELE training preferred
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience
  • IB experience preferred
  • International work/ living experience
  • Proficiency in integrating technology to enhance learning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Disposition that embraces collaboration and flexibility
  • A passion for teaching and learning
