Descripción 

The post holder will contribute to teaching at undergraduate level and will teach approximately 320 contact hours per year. They will primarily teach Spanish language but may also be expected to teach aspects of Spanish literature, history, film or culture according to their expertise and the needs of the programme. They will prepare and deliver seminars, tutorials and lectures as allocated by the Programme Director of SPLAS and the Head of Department of SELCS-CMII. The post holder will be expected to participate in departmental events and contribute to the intellectual life of the department. They will be entitled to devote 15 per cent of their working hours to scholarship and/or research, and will be welcome to participate in our Research Clusters, research seminar series, public engagement initiatives, and other events and projects Please see the Job description for further details.

The successful candidate will have a Postgraduate qualification (Master’s degree or equivalent) within the area of Spanish Teaching as an Additional Language and/or Spanish Linguistics. They will have knowledge of language assessment and competence standards in the UK and Europe. The post holder will have experience of delivering classroom-based language teaching and of teaching and assessing Spanish language at university level, including grammar, oral classes, and translation from and into Spanish. They will have excellent organisational skills and ability to manage time and work to strict deadlines as well as a proven ability and willingness to participate in teaching innovation projects in the area of Technology Enhanced Language Learning.
