The Instituto de Lengua y Cultura Españolas (ILCE) at Universidad de Navarra (Spain) seeks a dynamic visiting professor with substantial experience teaching Spanish undergraduate and graduate courses at the university level in North America.
This is a 12-month appointment with possibility of re-appointment for a one year.
Selected candidate will become part of a dynamic team of researchers, lecturers, and professors in one of the leading research centers on innovation on Spanish Second Language Teaching in Europe. Active research agenda and attendance and presentation of research in weekly meeting at Institute are expected. Candidate is also expected to participate in research and innovation projects at the Institute.
Typical teaching load is 3 courses per semester and 1 course during Summer session. Depending on research and teaching interests, candidate may teach innovative Spanish language, linguistics, literature, and culture courses at ILCE. ILCE professors and instructors develop syllabi and assignments, write exams, design course projects, hold weekly office hours, and participate in all professional development activities, conferences, and research meetings organized by ILCE (other relevant duties may be assigned by the Director of Institute as necessary). PhD in Spanish Second Language Teaching or Spanish Applied Linguistics from an accredited institution of higher education, substantial teaching experience in the US (2-5 years), and an active research agenda in Spanish Second Language Teaching, Curriculum Design, Action Research, Sociocultural Theory, Service Learning, and Technology Enhanced Language Learning.
