Objetivos
Activating prior knowledge and building background in L1 —English— to understand the use of ser/estar in Spanish —L2—.
Desarrollo
This resource, in the form of cognitive scaffolding, although practical for any level is particularly suitable for absolute beginners.
It proposes a route of 5 fixed steps (6 + 1 activities):
- 1st. Identity: I am... (introduce yourself)
- 2nd. Circumstance vs identity: Find the intruder (pastime)
- 3rd. Ser/estar:
- Guess who? (game)
- Dead or alive (grammar reflection) - 4th. & 5th. Characteristic or state? (practice and disambiguation resources)
- Conclusion & aim: Learning to learn ser/estar (on top of a communicative background)
