The Department of Modern and Classical Languages at Saint Joseph’s University invites applications for a one-year full-time appointment as a Teacher of Practice of Spanish. The department load per semester is 4 courses and will include teaching Spanish at beginning to intermediate levels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching of 4 courses, as specified by Department Chair and Spanish Program Head;
- Keeping posted office hours (minimum 4 hours per week – 1 hour per class);
- Giving prompt, regular feedback to students about their academic performance;
- Cooperating with adjunct and tenure-track faculty to assure quality and consistency across the Spanish Program.
Requisitos
Minimum Requirements:
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English.
- MA in Spanish and/or education or a closely related field, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College-level experience teaching Spanish at a variety of levels. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching Intermediate level courses.
